CLASSIC: What's the spookiest / wierdest / most chilling thing that's ever happened to you?

a girl (karen) i know was driving through salford with her 2 kids, when they stopped at a pelican crossing, the woman who was using the crossing had 2 kids with her.
karens youngest who was 4, said 'theres me other mam with john and billy'
when questioned he said he used to live at an address in salford with them, before he had an accident and came to live with karens familly.
I had to read that about 12 times, finally understood it. That's fucked up :o

I watched a film years ago when I was about 10, about these 3 blokes looking after this baby, I can't remember what it was called? Anyway, I was sat there watching it when there appeared to be a ghostly figure of a boy in one of the windows in the scene. I re-wound it and there it was again, a ghost. It still shits me up to this day. Has anybody else had a similar experience?

:D:D:D

I've read it loads and still don't understand.

Could you please explain it to me? :o

I'm being deadly serious, by the way.

You've got to be fucking kidding me!:D

The child said it to his mother, after seeing the other lot crossing the road.

Is that it?

Oh right, suppose that is a bit chilling for a kid to say.

Aye.

Even more disturbing that a grown man would make it up so to look cool on an internet forum, mind.

had a weird dream once that i was in bed (like i actually was) and in the dream i opened my eyes and looked up, and my room went all grey and i saw a faceless hooded figure with a scythe type thing standing above me, and i jumped up....then woke up in an upright position and lept out of my bed, turned the light straight away and sat there for about an hour shitting myself. sounds daft now but it was scary at the time.

parents reckon theyve heard footsteps in the house before at night when they were both asleep. that type of thing that wakes my dad up, so he got up straight away, and went out onto the landing. apparently my light was off n i was fast asleep (i'm a big clumsy doltz so theres no way i would have just gone straight back to sleep like that in that short space of time), my sister and the cats weren't in...spooky stuff

ghost type stuff shits me up badly, other kinds of paranormal phenomena im not too bothered about (at least until im confronted with it obviously)

There was a similar thread to this on here once before and someone posted a story in a very similar vein.

His Mrs was making cakes with his young daughter when little girl piped up

"remember when we used to make cakes all the time"

as this was the first time she had ever made cakes with her daughter the lads Mrs replied "No, when?"

The little girl said "ooh years ago, when you was a little girl and i was your Grandma"

I can't remember who posted it but it shit me up big style as one of my daughter used to say some weird shit when she was young.
She would say things like "when i was older i used to....." and "when i was a big girl like mummy i went there"

Spooky.

ive had surreal moments where ive pounced out of bed twice beliving the world is ending, the first time was whe i heard a ginormous bang at about 3 in the morning, i sat up shaking because it was a huge booming sound for about an hour waiting for the world to collapse.

the second time was first thing in the morning, still groggy-eyed i heard another bang and i jumped out of bed and looked out the window, i got a head rush and a large ringing in my ears and my sight brightened whiter and whiter and for a split second i beleved i was witnessing my life ending.... just a few hard to explain moments from my life here :o

A few years back I was with a bird from Gloucester, and she took me back down there to see the parents.

This was just after the Fred / Rose West arrests and as we doing some shopping in the city centre my missus mentioned that she had to walk past the house every day on the way to college.

Being a bit of a ghoul I asked her to take me to the house (which was still there at the time) to have a look.

As soon as we entered Cromwell Street my heart started pounding, and I started feeling ill. We got to the house about half way down the street and I just froze.

I could hardly speak and it felt like my head would explode.

I can honestly say I've never felt such an overwhelming feeling of evil before or since.

Eventually I snapped out of it, grabbed my bird's hand and practically frog marched her away from the place.

Shit me up for a good couple of days!

I think I've posted this on here before, but my dad used to live in Gloucester (he says he would see Fred West about the area every now and then and that he was a right weirdo).

It wasn't until he was back home that news broke of what had happened, and while he was reading one of the papers he discovered that one of the victims was someone he had previously gone out with when he was living there.

Was Fred a decent builder though? That's what I want to know.

Do you need someone to do some sort of job in your house?

My younger brother used to come out with weird shit like that. Playing football with him in my garden and he started telling me these stories about when he used to be a fireman when he was older and he didn't know why he stopped being one, weird.

Not really know. Just wondered if anyone has had work done by him. I can imaging someone saying " Fucking cracking job West did on our house, couldnt fault it. Wouldnt have thought he was a beast to be honest."

Funny how nobody ever saw your dad, and Fred West in the same room, at the same time......

I've closed the curtains, even thought the christmas tree is right up against the window, and I've turned the lights on to the brightest possible.

I'm also sat near a window, which I, too, have closed the curtains on.

Just waiting for a little tap on the window now.:o

He'll be home from work in an hour or two.

Well i'm not getting any sleep tonight

About 10yrs ago a good mate of mine was telling me that he had started having fairly regular dreams about being in a house and when he told me he could always describe it to me in fairly good detail. About three years ago I met up with him in Weston super Mare (he'd move there) and we were having dinner and I asked him about the dreams he used to have and did he still have them.
He told me, that one day one day he was on business near WSM and he saw the house and it shook him to his core, and had still been dreaming of it every now and then. Anyway he had the courage to knock on the door which was answered by a woman. He asked her if she was the owner not really knowing what to say, and she just replied, you have haunted this house for over 10 years. My mate said he thought he was going to pass out it he couldnt get his head round it.
Now here's the interesting bit. My mate was adopted when he was 2 yrs old.
To cut a long story short he had been born in the house in his dreams. His dad had been killed in the war and his mum fell to pieces. His Auntie moved in to the house to look after his mum and the pair of them died with weeks of each other about ten years ago.

Astral Projection.:D

When I first learned how to do it, I used to go to my cousins house and shit him up every single night.

His birth mum and his auntie. It turned out that he had a lot of family (no brothers or sisters) in WSM so he moved back down there, I asked him how come no of his relatives took him in, and he said he had never asked. He still sees adoptive mum and dad they two doors away from my folks.
Sorry I didnt explain very well did I?

So, if I've got this right, your mate's ghost has been haunting the house he grew up in (until he was two) and this ghost is somehow connecting with your mate through his dreams?

Yep but it was him as grown man not as a child. The other thing he said was that the house was as if it was set in the late 40s not like it was present day.

Weird.

It is weird, but I still dont believe in any of this shit, although I must admit I have a hard time explaining that one away. Seeing a ghost is one thing but fucking being one is a different story altogther.

It's not his "ghost". It's simply his astral body. Each and every person can leave their body and travel where and, indeed whenever, they want.

You can even skip across the Universe and back and forward in time.

A lot of ghost sighting are simply people seeing others in their astral form.

It's quite common for people who have lived in a house for a long time to go back and "haunt" their former residence because they leave their body unawares and travel back to what they remember is their house.

Something that 99.99999999 recurring percent of humans fail to grasp is that they are not solely a 3 dimensional being. Each and every object in existence exists on all 10/11 planes of being.

Human brains are the product and the receptors of at least ten dimensions worth of information. Once you understand that simple truth, everything in the entire Universe becomes crystal clear.

A member of my family who is as straight-laced as they come, and not the kind of man to make up stories (he doesn't have that much imagination) told another family member this story.

His first wife had been diagnosed with Cancer. She had to go into hospital for what should have been a routine operation. Anyway, he was driving round the M60 to get to hospital so he could be there when she woke up. As he was driving, his wife appeared in the passenger seat of the car and stayed with him all the way to hospital.

He was greeted by his father who told him there'd been complications and his wife had died on the operating table. He just turned round to his father and said he knew she'd gone.

Now obviously I can't explain what happened, but can say with certainty that knowing who it came from, if he says it happened, it happened.

The mind and the imagination is a wonderful, if sometimes terrifying thing.

When I was a kid I was sure that we had been burgled one night and that I was awake throughout and had heard and witnessed the whole thing. As soon as I was sure they were gone, I went to my Mum and said "Mum, we've just been burgled". She had been sitting up awake and had no idea what I was talking about. I must have been in a semi awake/asleep state and imagined the whole thing.

We can convince ourselves that certain things are real, when in fact, they are not.

Thats my take on most of this stuff anyway.

I agree.

Remembered another one. A couple of months ago (when those storms hit, few people died over the country due to the weather), my Mum's best friend died in a car crash in Plymouth. A couple of days later, I woke up and saw her sitting on a chair in my room, she was just sitting there and smiling.

My younger brother used to come out with weird shit like that. Playing football with him in my garden and he started telling me these stories about when he used to be a fireman when he was older and he didn't know why he stopped being one, weird.

Check this out if you can be arsed. The report of a young boy whose parents believe used to be a WWII Fighter Pilot in a past life:
