Yes, but when you 'put it behind the bar' it becomes his money, if you are claiming that doing so settles the bet, and if he doesn't agree to those terms, then you cannot claim to have settled the wager.

So put £200 behind the bar if you like, but unless the other lad agrees that this settles the bet, it isn't settled and the £200 is still owed.

But, you know this. You just don't want to pay. But, that's life. Sometimes we all shout our mouths off, enter into a rash bet, lose, and then it really stings having to pay it over.

That's where you find yourself. Learn your lesson. Pay MrDG. Those are Chopper's terms, and it's perfectly reasonable.

As said I really don’t have a problem showing my identity and putting the money in his hands. Don’t quite understand why’s not to be honest especially considering that’s why he was accusing me of. Also it’s not really any business of your is it.

I know the terms but I realised I could just as quickly bring the money direct as I was only going to pick a charity if I won so what is wrong with taking the money direct from me.

Yes but as you might gather being away from home since I took the bet time is something I am short of and instead of wasting what precious I have, there is a perfect window in the morning to quickly bring it to you. It takes one second to take from me. What’s the problem.
